Ag Ministry to keep grain export quota in Feb 15–Jun 30 2022

MOSCOW, Oct 5 (PRIME) -- The Agriculture Ministry plans to keep Russia’s grain export quota from February 15, 2022 through June 30 of the year, Maxim Titov, director of the ministry’s department for regulation of agriculture markets, said on Tuesday during an agriculture expo.

“In the second half of the (2021–2022 agriculture) season, I think, we plan to introduce quantitative restrictions in the form of a tariff quota for the same period as this year, I mean from February 15,” he said.

Distribution of quotas will depend on the historical principle. The quotas will be distributed between the companies in proportion to the their share in the combined grain exports in 2021. It will also be based on the 2021 grain harvest and grain exports in the first half of the 2021–2022 agricultural year.

The export quota on wheat, rye, barley, and corn amounted to 17.5 million tonnes from February 15 through June 30, 2021.
